How does it work?
When a website displays a video, it displays an HTML element for that video. When the video begins playing, a small overlay appears over the video. This overlay contains an advertisement that is either on YouTube or Dailymotion. In order to display the advertisement, the website must ask for permission. However, the website is not informed of the number of times the advertisement is displayed. The number of times the advertisement is displayed depends on the video-viewing time, so ads may appear more often than they should. The website may also display the same advertisement several times.
Adblock for YouTube can also block advertisements for live streaming websites like YouTube Live. The website is not informed of the number of times the advertisement is displayed.
